How to Overcome Anxiety in a Natural Way?

Did you know that generalized anxiety disorders are at the top of all other mental health disorders effecting more than 30% of the population? Do you know how to overcome your anxiety symptoms on your own? If you are having problems dealing with your anxiety or if you don’t know how to control your stress and panic attacks, you probably already have seen a psychiatrist. The anxiety pills are good but, they come with a big package. You have lots of side effects that freak you out, you are gaining weight or feeling suicidal… When someone tells you it’s all in your head you ask yourself “Why others can handle it and why can’t I?” Why some of us are more susceptible to anxiety and why some of us aren’t? The answer is simple: Why some of us get a cold easily and why some of us don’t? It is just the way it is. But as you can protect yourself from getting a cold, you can control anxiety taking over your life with some “easy to say but hard to do” techniques. Hard to do because you have years of bad habits to crack.

The reason why most people have any kind of anxiety disorder is because they are afraid of losing control as funny as it may sound. Things that are outside their powers usually sends them into panic. It’s the feeling of not knowing what to do. So therefore, the very first step is to accept that we can not control everything. Some things, wether we like it or not, are beyond our reach. So just let it go. Tell yourself, keep reminding yourself that it is OK… it really is OK.

It will sound like an oxymoron but learn to listen to yourself. There is a difference between hearing and listening. When someone goes through an anxiety attack, and when all the weirdest thoughts dominate their brains, they “hear” these voices. They don’t “listen”. When you listen, you get in touch with yourself, you recognize yourself. Ask yourself questions about the way you feel at that very moment. Dig it: what are you feeling? Why are you feeling it? Why is it upsetting you so much? What would you do if you wanted to get rid of it? Ask questions and give yourself honest answers. Understand what is making you so worried and work on it.

Spoil yourself. Do something you like. It could be listening to your favorite music or taking a walk, reading a book or go out shopping. Remind yourself you are “precious” and that you need “YOU”! You need “YOU” to help you. So be good to yourself.

Take a nice warm shower or bath. Warm water will help your muscles to relax and help you get overyour anxiety. A soft, relaxing music, or bath oils will help you even more. It is no secret that aromatherapy helps release stress.

Say good bye to your anger. People who are dealing with anxiety disorders can go from zero to 10 in a split second when it comes to anger. This is all related to control. The fear of losing control usually makes people very angry. So remember the first step and tell yourself over and over again that whatever is making you angry, is not worth it to hurt yourself. It is NOT worth it, no matter what it is.

Try breathing exercises. There are several techniques to help you relax.

Do not under estimate the power of herbal teas. First off, stop caffeine, get it out of your life, period. Caffeine and you can not be good friends. Switch to herbal teas. When you buy teas get the ones that have camomile, lavender, peppermint, valerian root and rose petals in them. Not all of them have to be together but, most of the night time relaxation teas have many of these ingredients. Just lay in your bed, sip your tea slowly and snooze!

Exercise. It might feel weird to go out and walk or run when your heart is beating 120/m but exercising really helps. Besides when you exercise your body increases the level of serotonin in your body, which eventually does the trick naturally that the pills do for you unnaturally.

Answer by Heather L
Personally I think it is but you should go to a doctor. You often feel dizzy, faint, sick, shaking, numbness,m thinking you’re about to die, chocking etc. You have experienced several of these symptoms and most likely is a panic attack. If the symptoms last for around 5-1 hour yeah it probably is. You should go to a doctor and get some medication to make them stop. Hope you feel better soon :)
