Anxiety and depression is a condition that experts call mental illness. This condition not only affects a person’s mental well-being but it will also affect a person’s physical welfare. You should consider the fact that all people experience this kind of condition. It is natural for people to experience anxiety and depression because of what happens in their life that affects them emotionally and also physically.

For example, if someone experiences going through the death of a loved one, that person will be subjected to depression. However, you have to consider that people should only experience this condition for just a short period of time. They should be able to accept the fact that it happened and resume their normal lives. If the person has been experiencing anxiety and depression for more than two weeks, it is recommended that he or she should seek help.

A person suffering from anxiety and depression, will have feelings of hopelessness or becomes a pessimist, feels that they are alone, social activity is impossible or hard, feels guilt, persistently sad and anxious, feels that they have no energy, feels that even the smallest task is hard or impossible to achieve, loses appetite, feels as if life has no meaning and there is no reason to go on living, loses interest in pleasurable activities that they usually find pleasure before,  and also have difficulty in sleeping.

Sometimes, a person will also eat excessively when they are depressed, this will result in being overweight. They sometimes eat excessively because people who are depressed find pleasure in eating to ease their emotional pain.

Some severe symptoms will include thoughts about suicide and death. This is why it is important for you to act before it can come to the point of being suicidal. If you see the early signs and symptoms in a person, you should immediately help them in any way you can or seek professional help for them.
