It will get better. As soon as the right treatment has some along then you will feel better. Tell you’re doctor the extent of what you’re feeling if you haven’t already. Just don’t give up.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder is a mental and emotional condition that has its origins in a physical and/or mentally traumatic event that occurred anywhere from a few days to several years in the past. PTSD can develop by one overwhelming trauma as in 9/11 or by a series of smaller traumas or abuses occurring over several years such as living in an alcoholic home. It can be recognized from symptoms such as recurrent and persistent recollections of the traumatic event and recurring dreams of the event. The history of PTSD date back to the early 1800′s where military doctors began diagnosing soldiers with “exhaustion” following the stress of battle. This “exhaustion” was characterized by mental shutdown due to individual or group trauma. Around this time there was a syndrome in England called ‘railway spine’ or ‘railway hysteria which bares a resemblance to what we call PTSD today. This was found by people who had been in the catastrophic railway accidents of that time. In World War I and II the term ‘shell shock’ and combat fatigue’ were terms to describe veterans who exhibited stress and anxiety after being in combat. The official designation of “Post Traumatic Stress Disorder” did not come about until 1980 when the Third edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) was published. Some individuals get exposed to major trauma, such as, war, rape, accidents, physical assaults, kidnapping, natural diasters, that have effect on physiological

My life sucks.. anyone know of any good anxiety disorder treatments?

Question by : My life sucks.. anyone know of any good anxiety disorder treatments?
i haven’t been diagnosed or anything but I feel like I have anxiety because I am always anxious and I get depressed every once in awhile. I did some research and found a website with information on anxiety here:

http://www.dealing-with-anxiety.net/anxiety-disorder-treatment.html/

Am I crazy for looking for treatment or should I wait for this to go away on it’s own? If you were me what would you do… seriously… it really sucks being me nowadays.

Dont start taking pills. Everyone gets depressed or anxious and starts taking some ridiculous pills, that they then become addicted to.
Just get out, start making friends. It is much easier to just change your lifestyle a little bit than it is to quit an addiction to medication.

If you have an anxiety disorder, can it lead to worse things if you don’t get treatment?

Question by Phil W: If you have an anxiety disorder, can it lead to worse things if you don’t get treatment?
Like if you go years without treatment or any help

It depends on your support system. I think people who have at least two strong supporters, people who are not only supportive but role models for them, can actually do relatively well even without treatment. If there is no one to rely on, I do think that things get much worse.

I hope if it is you that you look for support groups and seek other treatment even if you think you have good supporters. It’s often hard to get the kind of perspective you need without support groups.

Robert Mantell cures fear, phobia, anxiety on Discovery HC

This is an outtake from Dr. Robert Mantell’s 2001 appearance on the Discovery Health Channel’s 6-part series, “Things That Go Bump: Facing Our Fears”. In it, Dr. Mantell clears an intense 20-year phobia in just 20 minutes using a powerful technique from NLP. This technique is very effective in helping people to change how they create unwanted feeling states that often lead to unwanted behaviors. This process is so powerful because the change takes place at the unconscious level, and therefore works whether the person consciously believes it can or not.

once i get treatment for my hyperthyroid will my anxiety decrease?

Question by : once i get treatment for my hyperthyroid will my anxiety decrease?
i have really bad anxiety

Best answer:

Answer by J
It all depends on YOU!

Treatment for Hyperthyroidism can be easy, but if you let it, can get out of hand. My suggestion would be to get proper counseling from your doctor to combat the issues and fine lines that lie between the hyperthyroidism and treatment relating to your anxiety.
Good Luck
